Mobile Assets Insurance policy

The policy protects contractors’ equipment sited in an Arab country – other than the Contractor’s country – against political risks. The insurance policy period corresponds to the project execution schedule. The compensation rate stands for 90% of the loss.

Insured Risks

The insured contractor is entitled to insure one or more risks for each policy period (policy period: one year).

CEN

Confiscation, Expropriation Nationalization, compulsory seizure or any other action taken by the public authorities of the host country that may reduce or eliminate ownership of, control over, or rights to the insured assets.

Re-export restriction

The inability of the contractor to re-export the equipment following the denial or the delay of the public authorities of the host country to authorize the re-export at the conclusion of the project

Currency Inconvertibility and Transfer Restrictions

Refusal to transfer the value of the equipment in the event where the authorities do not allow the re-export with permission to sell the assets in the host country Or to allow the transfer with the imposition of a discriminatory exchange rate or delay in the transfer of the value of the equipment in foreign exchange to outside the host country

War and Civil Disturbance

Acts of war emanating from a foreign entity or the host country, or civil disturbance in the host country including revolutions, coup d’états, insurrections, terrorism or sabotage which directly damage or destroy the insured equipment.

Eligibility

Eligible mobile assets

Equipment imported from outside the host country or acquired locally and paid in foreign currency transferred from abroad.

Eligible contractor

Contractors from a country other than the host country (Arab country in which the project is to be made)

Mobile assets insurance application

The contractor submits a free of charge Insurance Application

Dhaman provides the applicant with a non-binding indication detailing the scope of cover and the pricing

Non-Binding Insurance Quotation

Host country approval

Obtaining the host country’s approval is necessary for Dhaman to issue the insurance policy

“Dhaman” provides the applicant with the insurance terms and conditions, the policy is signed
